My Sunday Dinner
I really enjoyed my Sunday Dinner. It was T-Bone Steak, Fried Onions, Twice Baked Potatoes that I made from scratch, Fresh Pea Pods and Bread. I wanted to make something fairly simple. Which this turned out to be. I put my steak in a marinade for a while so it would get nice and tender. While it was marinating, I started on my potatoes. I have never made these before. I can’t see spending as much as they ask in the store for them. I was hoping they would turn out. They turned out. I was happy. I will try making them again with different stuffing. I made the potatoes to start in the microwave. Soon as they got cool enough I pulled out the centers and mixed them up. I glanced at a few ways to make them on line. Then went with what I know. I didn’t have sour cream but I had some French Onion Dip. Worked like a charm.
This is the beginning of my Double Baked Taters. I thought they looked good. Once they baked I would find out. Now for the fun part.
The before and after. Yummy. I was afraid they wouldn’t work because instead of baking them first and using microwave they wouldn’t turn out. But, they did.
Then it was time to throw the pea pods in and get steak going. That is what I was ready for. I love T-Bone Steak but I can’t always afford it. They can get pretty expensive. I love the fact I went to the grocery store early the other morning just as they were putting the reduced meat out. There they sitting all pretty. T-Bone Steaks, nice size, not real thick but good enough. I paid $2.89 for one and $3.01 for the other. I would say that is a hard bargain to pass up. I didn’t. I don’t know about you but I could eat steak every day of the week. This is what that $3.00 T-Bone looked like before and after.
It just cooked up delicious. No shrinkage at all. Tender, yes it was. I had some sub buns that I buttered up and put in toaster oven for a few minutes wrapped in foil. Just enough to warm them. Now this is my dinner plate. I was grubbing tonight. I was hungry. Hadn’t ate since breakfast.
That was it. Yummy. I had some of my Country Bob’s All Purpose Sauce next to me. It was dinnertime.
